About Us

The International Emergency Department Leadership Institute (IEDLI) is an educational initiative sponsored by the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

IEDLI faculty members include senior ED leaders from within the Harvard system, and also top content experts from Europe, the Middle East and around the world. BWH physicians have extensive experience working internationally with both governmental and non-governmental partners to develop and improve emergency medicine education and emergency care delivery systems.

In accordance with Article 12 of the United Nations OHCHR International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, which recognizes the right of everyone to the highest attainable standard of health, we are committed to the concept of emergency departments that provide the highest standard of emergency care attainable under local circumstances and strive to achieve this through our commitment to high standards, state-of-the-art curricula and faculty who are global leaders in emergency medicine and management.
