The International Emergency Department Leadership Institute (IEDLI) provides Emergency Department leaders with the skills and knowledge they need to operate successful emergency departments around the world.
IEDLI is sponsored by the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
Leading an Emergency Department presents challenges to even the most experienced healthcare professionals. At IEDLI, you will undergo leadership training for real-world scenarios in Emergency Medicine through interactive courses and personalized mentoring from expert faculty.
IEDLI explores critical topics that present challenges in Emergency Departments, with topics changed each year to cover the current most pressing issues.
IEDLI is designed for emergency department physician and nursing leaders and hospital administrators. Both current leaders, including physician leaders, chief physicians, and chief nurses, and emerging leaders, including nurses, administrative personnel, and physicians, are encouraged to attend.
The courses and content are created for an international audience, with English as the common language.
IEDLI offers four interactive courses taught by Harvard Medical School faculty and other international experts with in-person workshops, seminars, group work, and personal mentoring. All courses encourage participants to engage actively with the course material and think critically about the implications for their own emergency departments.
This year’s courses will be held October 10-16, 2022.
