Dr. Philippe Heerinckx, on leadership tips
Dr. Philippe Heerinckx graduated as a medical doctor in 2001 at the University of Leuven (Belgium). He received a Master’s Degree in Emergency Medicine, Disaster Management, and Hospital Management and Healthcare Policy. During his training, he was a resident in the University hospital of Leuven (Belgium), the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw Hospital in Aalst (Belgium) and the University Hospital of Lausanne (Switzerland).
Dr. Heerinckx was head of the Emergency Department of the AZ Delta Hospital in Roeselare, Belgium from 2012 to 2015 and is currently working as an emergency physician in the AZ Maria Middelares Hospital in Ghent, Belgium. Dr. Heerinckx is also working as an independent consultant for improving clinical operations in both the Emergency Department and hospital-wide. He is a medical advisor for Auriex, a company providing medical-tactical training to police and armed forces.
Dr. Heerinckx’s special interests are value-based healthcare, patient flow management, teamwork, interdisciplinary collaboration, negotiations, change management, and improvement processes.
